6 months and counting!

I can't believe that yesterday was exactly 6 months away from the wedding! So many exciting events are about to begin. I can't wait for my two showers in December and to see so many friends and family.

My parents came in town Thursday night to stay through the weekend to get some planning done. It was so wonderful to see them, since I hadn't seen them since we evacuated for Hurricane Ike. On Friday afternoon we went to our photographer and picked out our final photography package as well as scheduled the date for my Bridal portraits. We also went to the museum and signed the final contract for the reception. Saturday was the most exciting day of the whole weekend! We had our appointment for our reception tasting. It was so much fun to taste all of the yummy h'ordorves and food stations that we will be having. Everything is so unique, absolutely nothing like I have ever had before, and I have a feeling that all of our guests will be very satisfied and surprised with the menu :)

After the tasting, Drew and I went to go look at wedding bands for him. This was the first time that we had done this, since Drew wanted to wait till we were closer to the wedding. We found one that he really likes but he wants to continue to look until he sees one that he loves. After all, he will be wearing it everyday :)

I also had mailed the save-the-dates on Wednesday so I have been getting so many phone calls and text messages that everyone has received them. They turned out so beautiful and I'm so glad they are finally mailed. I had been waiting about a month to send them because collecting addresses has been so time consuming.

So we've joined the blogging world!

Hello all! Drew and I have decided (or I guess I'm responsible) for wanting to start this blog. I never thought I would ever be a "blogger" and I used to think it was pointless but now that more friends of ours are starting to get them, I think it's a great way to stay connected and up to date with everyone and their crazy lives.

Drew and I are (on Saturday) 6 months away from the BIG DAY! :) On November 5th, we will have been engaged for a year. I cannot believe it. Time sure does fly. We are counting down and can't wait for this day to finally get here. 

If some of you haven't heard, Drew and I will be making our days as newlyweds in Houston. He just up-rooted and switched jobs for a Petroleum Landman firm out of Katy and so here we are... moving and packing up. We moved him in about three weeks ago into our apartment and I'm itching to finally get to live there too. We only see each other on the weekends now, but it's making time go by faster and we enjoy the short time we do have together. I think it's God's way of helping us prepare for our marriage. We now treasure every second! 

I am now two months away from graduating and I could not be happier. Student teaching has been amazing so far, but I'm definitely ready for my own classroom. I'm currently researching school districts in Houston. If you happen to have any suggestions, shoot them my way!
