I seriously do not know where the time has gone. I've been so consumed with getting my life back in order from the holidays, traveling, and trying to finish decorating our un-finished home. Yes, I've been an avid blog reader of others but I have neglected my own. I just haven't found anything inspiring to write about. And then it hit me. I don't have to have anything inspirational, I should just write! So here goes nothing...
First thing on my mind, is YES football season is FINALLY over... that means I get my big screen tv back in the living room! As some of you know, Drew is completely and utterly in love with ESPN during football season. It is true when they say that some women are widows for part of the year... I'll admit, I'm one of them. But really, I'm so happy to finally have my husband's full attention on the weekends and on Monday's. However, next on the schedule... the weather is nice, so now it's golfing season... oh no!
And finally what has constantly been on my mind, work. I am totally in love with my job. Although my dream job (and hopefully one day will be) to be a stay at home mom, I am LOVING my life right now. I'm in my second year of teaching so I am finally getting the sense of... "I know what I'm doing."
I've confided in some of you, but last year was suppose to be one of my happiest years of my life. I was a newly wed, living in the big and exciting city of Houston, I had bought my first car, Drew and I bought a cute puppy that we love, and I was in lovey dove love with my husband... but my job was utterly the worst experience I've endured. It's now been one year since the worst experience of my life... and I can honestly say that I've learned so much. I've learned that I'm not just a good teacher, I'm becoming a great teacher, and someday I aspire to be a master teacher. My students are actually learning something. My team is AMAZING, my administration at my school is OUTSTANDING, and I'm supported a million percent with love and compassion. I've learned to believe in myself and not to doubt what I do. I'm reminded so many times throughout the day that I've been put on this earth to educate children and to make a difference in their lives. I also know that "the time and money invested in me" at my current school is not worthless but worth every penny. I'm finally feeling again what I felt the first time I realized I wanted to be a teacher. For so long, I doubted myself because what had happened to me last year. But I can finally say, they were wrong. I am strong and no one is going to beat me down again.
For those of you who have no clue what I'm talking about, I'm sorry. But I really felt like I needed to get this off my chest. Thank you to those of you who supported me. And thank you to those who believed in me. I cannot wait to see what the Lord still has planned for me as a teacher. And I cannot wait to see the growth in my students in May. They have already come so far and I know that they are going to go even further in these next few precious months we have left of school.
Thank you sweet Jesus for your constant faith in me and your everlasting love for me. I would not be the person I am today, if it weren't for your sacrifice for me.
