Updates and 1 month of Marriage!

Well I can definitely say that this week is so much better than last week! :) Drew and I are busy with work and trying to get everything done for the weekend which is our kickoff to our wedding season this summer. We have a total of 7 weddings this summer!
Friday night we have Drew's cousin, Laci's wedding in Lafayette and then Saturday we have BJ & Bonnie's wedding in Hunt, Texas. We are sad that we have to miss our friend's Jordan & Bryan's wedding in Corpus but there is no way we can be in two places at once. We will be traveling lots of miles and having to board our little Lucy for the weekend. I hate to leave her but I know she wouldn't be happy being in the car the whole weekend.
And on Memorial Day, Drew and I had a little celebration at home for our 1 month anniversary being married! I cannot believe that it's already been one whole month. I feel like it was just yesterday. I guess time flies when you are in love :)
Hope everyone is having a wonderful week! I'll post pictures from the weddings when we get back. God speed!

When it rains... it POURS!

Let's just say that this has officially been one of the worst weeks of my life. It all started actually last Thursday when I was driving down to Corpus for the night to help my sister, Katherine, pack up her house. My AC in my car stopped working on the way down there. I was very frustrated and just figured that it needed freeon. My sweet brother-in-law, Danny, offered to look at it and we put some in. Right when I was ready to leave Corpus on Friday, the AC stopped working again! So, I drove to Drew's parents' house and Mr. Dueitt took it to the mechanic to have it looked at. Come to find out... there were about 3 things that needed to be repaired. After deciding that I would drive Mrs. Dueitt's tahoe back to Houston and meeting them on Sunday to get my car I was relieved to know that my car would be fixed.
This Tuesday rolls along and Kenedy and I decide to cook dinner at her apartment while Drew was at an Astros' game with his boss. So I packed up Lucy and we had a fun night at Kenedy's. Right when I was ready to leave, I go outside to put Lucy in the car and I realize that my car is MISSING! I panic, because I just gotten my car back 2 days before and then come to find out it's been towed.... After calling the Houston police department we finally locate my car at 1 am and drive to Harwin (in the scariest part!) to go pick up my car. After shelling out $200 to get my car out from being impounded I get home around 2 am.
Wednesday rolls along and I'm ready to go to work for my summer job. My car sounded funny when I was driving down I-10 but I didn't think much of it because it's an old car and it makes noises. I get done with work and I'm driving home and all of a sudden the temperature gauge on my car goes all the way past HOT and all of a sudden DIES on the freeway!!! I'm panicking at this point and balling my eyes out. Drew had to cancel his meetings and come pick me up, we had to call the insurance company to tow my car AGAIN and take it to another mechanic.
Come to find out there were about 6 things wrong with it this time and it over-heated. So I finally pick up my car today and paid about $400 for those repairs. And now it's working OKAY.
I'm just praying that these are the last of my car worries until I get a "real" job for the fall and we can trade it in.
Well they always say when it rains it pours.... and it sure did pour on me this week. I was listening to the radio today and re-thinking everything that has happened to me in the past few days and a song came on that made me smile. It was "When the Rains Comes" by Third Day.
It really helped me remember that even in times like this when I'm so frustrated and don't understand why all of these things happen and at one time, that God is here to help me through this. He can't "stop my rain" but he can "hold me till it goes away." I hadn't heard this song in such a long time and I know that he was speaking to me. I'll share the lyrics with you.

When the rain comes it seems that everyone has gone away
When the night falls you wonder if you shouldn't find someplace
To run and hide
Escape the pain
But hiding's such a lonely thing to do
I can't stop the rain
From falling down on you again
I can't stop the rain
But I will hold you 'til it goes away
When the rain comes
you blame it on the things that you have done
When the storm fades
you know that rain must fall on everyone
Rest awhile
it'll be alright
No one loves you like I do
When the rain comes
I will hold you

I Love LUCY!

I have been a bad blogger lately but the reason is because it's been pretty busy in the Dueitt household. For Mother's Day and my birthday, which is on Wednesday, my AMAZING husband surprised me with a puppy!! We are now a family of 3 :)
Her name is Lucy Dueitt and she is a West Highland Terrier... also known as a "Westie." She will be 7 weeks old tomorrow and weighs less than 1 lb and when she is full grown she will be anywhere from 10-14 lbs. She is just the sweetest dog and I'm already so in love with her. I have always grown up with dogs but I never had the kind of bond with them that I already have with my baby. Meet Miss Lucy...

Isn't she adorable?

I love my pink kennel :)

We're Married!!!

We did it!! We are finally husband and wife :) Drew and I are now back in Houston after a relaxing and amazing week in the Bahamas. I will post pictures from the wedding and honeymoon soon!
Drew and I want to thank everyone who came to the wedding and helped us celebrate the most memorable and exciting day of our lives. We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends and family who care about us and support us. And we also cannot forget to thank our Lord and Savior who was there to bless our marriage in his house. We cannot wait to begin our journey!
