Lazy Saturdays

I just love weekends when you don't have any plans and you can just relax, sleep, and enjoy each other. Drew and I have been so LAZY today, we haven't even left the apartment all day! In fact, here it is on a Saturday night and have been cleaning our apartment!!! I mean really cleaning... dusting, vacuuming, and doing the laundry. We are quite OCD about many things... :) I always say "a clean home is a happy home!"

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!

Ski Trip 2010!

Drew and I got back today from our amazing vacation to Beaver Creek, Colorado! We had such a great time enjoying the gorgeous snow, skiing, and spending time with his family. We were staying at Drew's aunt and uncle's GORGEOUS home.
We arrived on Saturday and it took us forever because we flew into Denver and then rented a suburban to drive to Beaver Creek which is only 20 minutes from Vail. But, it started snowing so bad so it took us double the time but we made it after 5 hours in the car...
Saturday night we just enjoyed getting adjusted and lots of sleep to hit to slopes the next day.

Sunday was Valentine's day and we all woke up to presents from Drew's parents. We had a great breakfast and then we were off... Justin (Codi's boyfriend) and I were off to ski school while everyone else were off to ski. In ski school I was the best in my class :) Haha everyone else was 40 or older and everyone was from a different country! My ski teacher was even from Germany. But it was fun to learn the "basics." After a loooooong day of ski school we all headed back to the house to meet the Louisiana crew that had just flew in and to get ready for our Valentine's dinner date with Justin and Codi. The four of us went into the village and had a yummy dinner at this place called "The Dusty Boot."

Monday I awoke to very SORE legs but we headed off to the slopes again. I was determined to use what I had learned the previous day, however Drew's aunt decided to take me on a green called "Cinch." Let's just say.... it was not a cinch.... it was the LONGEST route on the mountain!! I about DIED! I felt like my legs were going to fall off because there were so many points where you had to pole. Anyways, we made it down and I was done for the day! Monday night we had a yummy dinner again with all of Drew's relatives that were finally in town and all of the women watched the Bachelor.

Tuesday I awoke again to very SORE legs... but I was determined to ski! We decided to go down some different greens that had some blues. I'm still not very confident in myself to go down blues but I wanted to be good. I fell ALOT... but I still had fun. I think my favorite part of skiing was actually riding the lifts :) But overall it was a great day. Tuesday night we had a Turduckhin... which I had never had before and we celebrated Mardi Gra style (of course we would with all of the Louisianans') with beads, cake, and celebrating Drew's aunt and cousins' birthday. We also played taboo and pictionary. It was fun.

Today we woke up at 5 am to head back to Denver to head home. Overall, it was a wonderful trip and even though most people don't like skiing the first time they try it, I really loved it! I think the next time I go I will enjoy it more but we had so much fun. I can't wait till next year!
Here are some pictures, enjoy! :)

So What's New??

Last weekend we had a wonderful time watching the Superbowl at our good friends house, The Pennington's. We are so blessed to have them in our lives and to be able to spend so much quality time with them before they leave for Cliff's spring training! We sure are going to miss you and Mr. Brady :) We can't wait to visit you in California this summer!

We thought we had found "the house" but God had other plans for us... so we are back to the drawing board... I know we will find the right one soon, I'm just praying for patience right now and opening my ears to hear and to seek where HE wants us to live. That is struggle for me but I know HE will lead us there.

Drew and I have been taking our "daughter", Lucy, to her puppy kindergarten classes for the past 5 weeks. She is doing so well and we are having so much fun training her to be good. She really has been catching on. I'll post some pictures as soon as I take some :)

Drew and I are also REALLY excited because we leave THIS Saturday for Beaver Creek, Colorado!!! Drew's aunt and uncle have a house there and we are having a Dueitt family vacation for 5 days. I've never been skiing before so this will be quite an experience for me. I'll be sure to take lots of pictures and post about it when we get back. I am going to miss our Lucy girl though... we have only had to board her one other time. We had just gotten her and she was only about 2 months old and we had to go to a wedding in Louisiana and a wedding in Kerrville... all in the SAME weekend!! We did it though and the entire time I was thinking about our tiny little puppy. But, now that she is a little older, I'm trying to remind myself that she is going to have fun and meet friends. We will see how this goes... we drop her off on Saturday morning before we go to the airport... I might need tissues on the plane!

Hope everyone enjoys this Sunday's Valentine's Day! This will be our 5th Valentine's together, hard to believe how fast the time has flown, but I'm so blessed to have such an amazing husband. I can't wait for 50 more Valentine Day's together with you :)

Have a wonderful weekend! XOXOXO
