This year Drew and I hosted my family at our house for Thanksgiving. It was such a treat to have my entire family present in our new house. My parents and Amy and Danny, Dustin and Kaitlyn arrived on Wednesday and we stayed up late catching up and making sure we had everything ready for the next day. Thursday morning, Katherine, Rick, Courtland and Tyler arrived and all of us were up early to start the cooking. The men and boys enjoyed watching the Cowboys and Saints game and finally lunch was ready. It was delicious and so much fun to use all of my china and crystal :)
After lunch we we all took naps and then stayed up to watch A&M BTHO tu! It was a great game!!
Friday morning all of the girls got dressed and we headed to a full day of shopping at Old Town Spring. It was so much fun to take my mom and sisters there, it was their first time! Later that night, we all came back to Katy and 12 of us packed in the car went to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. So much fun!
Saturday morning, everyone left and Drew and and packed up with Lucy and headed to CC for the night. We had Sean Walker's bday and Kelly and Christina McCain's 1 year wedding anniversary party to attend. It was fun to be able to see some of our friends- even though it was a short trip.
After finally getting the house cleaned up from Thanksgiving, I bought our tree and started decorating our house. We have a 9 ft tree decked from top to bottom with lights, ornaments and ribbon (I'll post pictures soon!) Our mantle has stockings (Lucy even has one too!) and it is adorned with garland. And finally our yard has some cute Christmas decor in it. It is so much fun this year to decorate my OWN house.
We also went this past weekend and made a BIG purchase for our living room. This is really mine and Drew's gift to one another but we bought living room furniture and it is being delivered tomorrow. YAY!!! My mom is also coming this weekend to stay and go to our cousin's wedding and Houston First Baptist's Christmas show. I can't wait for some sweet time with my mama!
6 1/2 more days until I'm off for 2 weeks.... oh the countdown is ON and I'm anticipating Christmas shopping and all of our holiday festivities that are to come. Hope everyone is remembering the true reason for the season! I will post pictures next :)

Where has the time GONE!
I find myself asking all the time, "where has the time gone?" I guess the older you get, the days go by so much faster. Drew and I have been staying very busy, as always, with our jobs, families, and quick trips!
Since I last posted this is what the Dueitt's have been up to:

Aunt Becca, Tyler, and Uncle Drew at Tyler's 9th birthday party

Coming up this weekend we are staying HOME! We want to go buy new living room furniture... clean house... catch up on laundry and BBQ. We've stayed so busy lately that we need this weekend to ourselves. In two weeks (Halloween weekend), we are heading to New Braunfels to stay with my parents and attend my good friend, Samantha Strauss' wedding! We're always staying busy but we'd love to hear from you. Hope all is well... stay tuned for a MUCH SOONER blog update soon :)
XOXO
Since I last posted this is what the Dueitt's have been up to:
- Sept 10th- The Dave Matthews Band concert in the Woodlands with the-soon-to-be Gayharts :)
- Sept 11th- Fightin' Texas Aggie football game against SFA with the Rye's, we won :)
- Sept 12th- Our couple's Bible study hosted at our house, we served 8 amazing couples a yummy taco dinner and shared our study on couples on the Old Testament.
- Sept 17-19th- We traveled to CC the following weekend and Drew went dove hunting with his uncle and Dad (unfortunately, that was the weekend that CC flooded!) And I enjoyed spending time with my mother-in-law, and going to Cassie & Brandon's couple shower.
- Sept 24- Drew's 27 Birthday!!! His parent's came in town and we took Mr. Drew out to celebrate at The Outback. I also was able to give him a custom made BBQ pit that I had made especially for Drew... he said this was the best gift he's ever gotten :)
- Sept 25-26th- Quick trip to Lafayette, Louisiana with Codi & Justin to celebrate Laci & Chris' baby shower (Laci is Drew and Codi's first cousin).
- Sept 30th- I joined the Houston Junior League! I'm so excited to start meeting more women and getting involved in this great city!!
- October 2nd- We went to the Astros' last baseball game to celebrate a SURPRISED 50th birthday party for Drew's, Uncle John.
- October 8-10th- My parent's came to visit us and we celebrated my nephew, Tyler's, 9th birthday.
- And finally.... this past weekend (October 15-17) we traveled to my parent's ranch in Fredricksburg for a nice relaxing weekend and attended my good friend, Christie Barrow's wedding. Christie and her parent's were members of my Dad's church when I was in middle school while living in San Antonio. Our families have remained friends over the past 12-13 years and so it was such a pleasure to attend her wedding in Comfort, TX (right by FBG!) and my Dad performed the ceremony.

Are you ready to rumble??
Drew and I have been very active lately in going to college & professional games! Last weekend we headed up Dallas to spend the night with Drew's sister Codi and her fiance Justin and to see our dear friend Cliff Pennington play against the Rangers. It was an amazing game and ending in an Oakland A victory- yippee!! We were able to catch up with some old friends and have a great relaxing time.
This current weekend we were able to go to the first Fightin' Texas Aggie football game against SFA. It ended in a victory as well....WHOOP! It was so much fun being back in Aggieland and being able to watch the boys play. Oh how it made us miss COLLEGE!!
Life is great and we are loving it! Tomorrow for the agenda on Labor day is do NOTHING! We are going enjoy being at home and relaxing before heading back to work. Too bad not every weekend is 4 days! :(
Blog friends, enjoy your Labor day tomorrow, you deserve it!
Coming up next weekend.... Dave Matthews Concert, 2nd Fightin' Texas Aggie game in CS, and our couples bible study on Sunday! Will post updates soon! :)

Our New House...My new job :)
It has been awhile since I last blogged but ALOT has been going on with the Dueitt's.
We are totally out of boxes and fully moved in to our beautiful house. I am fully moved in to my new classroom as well. Besides learning my new neighborhood, city, and meeting new people in our community/my new school I've been bogged down with inservices, trainings, and meetings for work. It's all very exciting and I'm sooo excited to begin school on the 23rd in Katy. I just know that the Lord brought Drew and I here and that he has chosen me to serve in Katy ISD. I'm just amazed every time I learn something new about my new district and new school. It's truly not an "accident" but a blessing as to why I'm here now. I could go on and on about other things but I want to show everyone pictures of our new house. Here is a sneak peek of what I've been up to making our house a home :)

My Grandmother Turns 100!
My sweet little Grandmother, Dorothy Wyatt, turned 100 on July 8th. My parents hosted a beautiful party for her in New Braunfels at the Faust Hotel on July 11th. It was so much fun to be with all of our family celebrating her life. She was soo excited and just beautiful. I'm so blessed to still have her in my life, what an amazing celebration!
On a side note- our closing date had been postponed and we are FINALLY closing THIS Friday at 1 p.m! We move next Tuesday. Thank GOODNESS! I'm sick of these boxes....
