Mary's 4th of July Wedding!!

Well last weekend was a weekend that I will never forget! My best friend of 17 years tied the knot!! It was a gorgeous wedding in Austin, Texas but it was HOT...HOT...HOT!!!

Mary wanted a small, very green, Austin wedding! And she had it! The wedding was held at a a perfect little white framed church in the Hyde Park district called Hyde Park Presbyterian. The reception was at an old Victorian home called The Allan House. Everything was green down to a tee and it was beautiful. The fireworks even starting popping during her and Zachary's first dance together as husband & wife. What a neat way to celebrate your wedding anniversary every year on a holiday with fireworks! :) I just posted a bunch of pictures on facebook, if you are my friend you can view them, but if not here is a sneak peek....

Before I go I just want to say... Mary, where would I be without you as a best friend? You and I have known each other before we even knew our husbands and although Drew is now my closest companion, you are right there under him. God brought us together all those years ago on Palmetto street when we were just two little blonde haired girls playing with our American girl dolls and riding bikes. What a joy it was to witness your love, devotion, and commitment in front of God to Zachary! I will never forget your wedding and I know that we will be friends forever. I love you Jeff! :)

A Wedding and an Anniversary Celebration!

The past two weekends Drew and I have been to a wedding and a 50th wedding anniversary celebration!

Two weeks ago Drew and I headed to the tiny town of Fayetteville, Texas for Drew's friend, Blake Boldt's wedding. He married Ashley Keilers and it was beautiful! Blake is a friend from A&M and they played on the club baseball team together. It was fun to meet all of Drew's friends from his club baseball team because besides Blake & Chase Deaton I hadn't met any of them. Drew had a great time too catching up.

Last weekend we headed to Bridgeport, Texas which is near Fort Worth to celebrate my Aunt & Uncle's 50th wedding anniversary celebration! What an accomplishment. They met in college at Trinity University and were married on June 27, 1959. It was so much fun to see my cousins, grandmother, and my sweet aunt & uncle. My sweet grandmother, Mimi, said to me... "Well it took you a year and a half to plan your wedding now you have 49 years to plan your 50th!" And it's true... and I really hope Drew and I can make it to 50 years so that we can celebrate all the years of love and happiness together.

This coming weekend for the 4th of July we are headed to New Braunfels to my parent's house where we will celebrate the weekend and attend my BEST FRIEND since 1st grade's wedding on the 4th in Austin, Texas. Mary Carr and I were neighbors that lived across the street from one another from the 1st grade till 5th grade. We continued to remain friends and would visit one another since I moved to San Antonio when I began middle school. When we moved back to Corpus after 8th grade we were so excited to begin high school together. Since then we have had many memories together and I just think it's so fun that my oldest friend and I were both married the same year. We are each other's first friend's and each other first friend's to get married. I know that we will continue to remain friends forever. I can't wait to post pictures from her wedding!

Until then, I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer! And Happy Early 4th of July!!!
