The Dueitt's Celebrate Our One Year Anniversary!

We made it!! I seriously cannot believe how fast time has flown by. I really feel like it was just yesterday that I was waking up the morning of my wedding day and preparing to walk down the aisle to Drew. It was the most magical, happiest day of my life. Our anniversary was April 25th (this past Sunday).

Drew and I celebrated a month ago by going to New York City. However, we had to do something on the real day. We had reservations to eat at Perry's Steakhouse and it was fantastic! We also ate our wedding cake... not so yummy as I had remembered it. I mean doesn't everyone know it's going to taste gross??

Drew and I could not be any happier. We are so thankful to our family, friends, and our precious Savior for blessing our lives and our marriage beyond what we deserve. Drew, I love you with all my heart and I cannot wait to spend the next 99 years with you! Here's to us!

Details of our NYC Trip... FINALLY!

Since life has been moving so quickly for us I haven't had the chance to update our blog. Although I said I was going to post pictures from New York and talk about our trip here is our recap...

We had a rough time getting to NYC but we finally made it on Sunday, March 14th. We were able to check into our hotel which was about less than a block from Times Square we grabbed a quick bite to eat at a local Pizzaeria and then headed to see The Lion King broadway show...which was fantastic! After the show, we explored Times Square and Rockefeller Center. We were so tired that we ended up crashing very early Sunday night.

Monday morning, we woke up and decided to start our day in Downtown NYC. We were able to see Battery Park, Statue of Liberty, Wall Street, New York Stock Exchange, Tiffany's and Co., all of the court houses (we even saw them filming Law & Order!), and the location of where the Twin Towers once stood. We also went into the memorial for 9/11 and saw all of the artifacts from that terrible day, and since we were so close we decided to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge into Brooklyn. We walked around the first part of Brooklyn and then took a subway back to Manhattan. We explored China Town and Little Italy and then met up with a close friend of mine, Caroline, who lives in Little Italy. We had drinks close to her apartment and then soon decided to head back towards our hotel. We went to see Grand Central Station and parts of 5th Avenue on our way back to the hotel.

Tuesday was dedicated to exploring the main parts of Manhattan. We explored the Natural History Museum and walked all over Central Park. We saw the Met, MoMa, and then we quickly had to head back to Rockefeller Center for our NBC backstage studio tour! We saw all the behind scenes and studios of The Nightly News with Brian Williams, SNL, and all of the make-up studios. We also saw the set of The Today Show!! We went to the top of the Rock and saw the most amazing views of NYC. I was already in love with this city!! Tuesday evening we took a subway to The Bronx to see Yankee Stadium. I was actually quite scared to go into The Bronx so late in the day but I wanted to do this for Drew. We saw the old and new stadium, it was very surreal to know that this was the exact location of where Babe Ruth played! After our quick trip to the Bronx we went shopping on 5th Avenue and then went to some fun places with nightlife near Times Square.

Wednesday we were determined to see The Empire State building before we were leaving to go to the airport. This was also St. Patrick's Day.... so we battled the crowds people preparing for the parade and we saw the original Macy's and of course the famous Empire State Building! It is so huge! After our little adventure we went back to pack it up and head to the airport. Although we weren't in NYC for a long time we were able to see everything that we wanted to see. I already am planning another trip back because I seriously LOVE NYC! :)
